Are you a guru in next-generation sequencing? Do you want to become one? The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking a talented Bioinformatician to focus on the analysis of large next-generation sequencing datasets. We want somebody with an extensive interest in large-data problems and an in-depth knowledge of data-handling. But this position involves a very substantial analysis component and the successful applicant will be working closely with systems-administrators, statisticians, PhD students, and postdoctoral associates on:
• Optimization and parallelization of algorithms for the analysis of genome-sequencing data;
• Integration of diverse datasets into unified statistical models;

We are generating multiple independent genomic analyses, including mRNA and DNA microarrays, RNA-seq, whole genome-sequencing (PacBio and Illumina Hi-Seq), and some limited RNAi functional screen data. Rich clinical annotation is also available on these samples, and analyses are performed on cutting-edge IT infrastructure including a multi-petabyte storage system and a >6,500-core compute farm.
