Salary: Commensurate with level of experience
Hours: 35 Hrs/week
Status: Permanent Full Time
The Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking a full time web application programmer to support the International Cancer Genome Consortium Data Coordinator Centre (DCC) hosted at OICR. This project involves the management of large amounts of cancer re-sequencing and characterization data produced by multiple centres around the world. The web application programmer will participate in designing and implementing software for to meet the Consortium’s DCC requirements and in particular web-based graphical user interfaces, visualization and analysis tools.
The responsibilities include:
• Development and maintenance of the Consortium’s DCC software;
• Working within a Unix/Linux environment;
• Providing user support for ICGC DCC software deployers.
QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree in computer science is required;
• One (1) to three (3) years of related work experience;
• Experience in Java programming;
• Experience in web application development;
• Experience in relational databases;
• Unix/Linux environment;
• Previous experience in bioinformatics an asset.
