Postdoctoral Fellows in Computational Biology
One or two Postdoctoral Research Positions in Computational Biology is needed for the projects which involve the development of methodologies to analyze large-scale biological data such as gene expression data and ChIP-on-chip data for understanding the process controlled by molecular biological networks or tandem mass spectral data for improving the protein/peptide identification from tandem mass spectra.
Training background
Ph.D. in molecular biology or biochemistry with solid computer science or mathematics background, or computer science, statistics or computing mathematics with moderate molecular biology knowledge.
Expertise
The candidates should have expertise in computer-based large-scale data analysis and capability to explain the analysis results. The candidates should also be able to work independently as well as in an interdisciplinary research team. Experiences in database and gene ontology are desirable.
Starting date
Before or on September 1 2010.
Application
Interested candidates are encouraged to send their CV, PhD thesis or relevant publications in electronic form only, and contact information for potential reference letters to Professor FangXiang Wu by email faw341@mail.usask.ca before May 15. Informal inquiries are welcome.
