A bioinformatics programmer position is available in the Muthuswamy Laboratory at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR), Toronto, Canada. Our major focus is in identifying structural variations in genomes of individuals affected by cancer or other genetic disorders. We are seeking a highly motivated and talented programmer with interests in mathematical modeling of genomics data. Our bioinformatics analyst/programmer is expected to develop software applications to analyze large scale, state-of-the-art, next-generation sequencing and microarray data.
The candidate should have strong programming skills in multiple languages, including C++, and experience working in a UNIX environment. Experience in analyzing large-scale, -omic datasets and bioinformatics skills is highly desirable. Please attach a copy of your CV and a list of three (3) references in your application.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have either a Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Statistics or Computer Science;
• Strong programming skills in C, C++. Perl, python, matlab, R;
• Should be comfortable programming in both Windows and UNIX environments;
• Experience in managing large scale data is preferred;
• Willing to learn advanced statistical methods and programming languages is essential.
