Institution/Company:
Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal
Location:
Montréal, QC
Job Description:

L’Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM) is an independent biomedical research institute with a mission to pursue basic biomedical and clinical research and to provide excellent training for young scientists. The IRCM is seeking candidates for junior or senior faculty positions (Principal Investigator) in the fields of Computational Biology & Bioinformatics. The selected candidates will be invited to join the newly formed research axis on Integrative Systems Biology, which currently includes the following laboratories: Jacques Archambault (Molecular Virology), Benoit Coulombe (Gene Transcription and Proteomics), Éric Lécuyer (RNA Biology), Marlene Oeffinger (Ribonucleoprotein Biochemistry), François Robert (Chromatin and Genome Expression).

Candidates whose research interests focus on the computational analysis of gene expression and regulation at the genome- and/or proteome-wide level and molecular network analysis will be given priority. For this position, we are seeking applicants with a Ph.D. degree, a significant postdoctoral experience and the desire to set up their own competitive research program. The candidate is expected to direct his/her own research program but is also asked to supervise a bioinformatics service at the IRCM.

These positions are equivalent to a university faculty position with low teaching requirements. IRCM is a dynamic independent biomedical research institute located in the heart of Montreal, Canada. It is affiliated with the Université de Montréal and associated to McGill University under specific agreements. The successful candidates will have appointments at the Université de Montréal as research professors.

Please send your application including a CV, publication list, a short summary of your most significant research contributions, a short description of your future research program and three addresses of references to candidature@ircm.qc.ca. Review of applications will begin February 15, 2010 and continue until appropriate candidates are identified. For further information consult the IRCM website at http://www.ircm.qc.ca.
