The Francis Ouellette laboratory at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research (OICR) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to use and develop bioinformatics approaches for the analysis of cancer genomes and cancer transcriptomes. In particular we are interested in investigating how cancer mutations cause changes in proteins that affect protein-protein interactions (PPIs), networks and pathways that may be responsible for cancer phenotypes (the so-called “drivers”). We are interested, but not limited to working with sequence data from human pancreatic tumours generated at the OICR’s Cancer Genomics platform.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, enthusiastic and hard working, and will have:

• Strong knowledge of existing bioinformatics methodologies and databases;
• Sound knowledge of molecular interaction network analysis;
• Sound knowledge in molecular and cancer biology;
• Prior knowledge of literature in Cancer biology;
• Good command of the English language (both oral and written).

The successful applicant will enjoy access to cutting-edge technologies such as Illumina and SOLiD high-throughput sequencers, to the well-funded and intellectually stimulating environment of OICR’s Informatics and Biocomputing platform, as well as the opportunity to work closely with the genomics platform, drive projects and publish in scientific journals and attend scientific meetings.
