Postdoctoral fellowship in bioinformatics / computational molecular biology
Postdoctoral positions are available in the Lab for Computational Biology at Simon Fraser University, lead by Cenk Sahinalp. The funds for the postdoctoral fellowships will be provided either by the Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences or the Bioinformatics for Combating Infectious Diseases Program supported by the Community Trust Endowment Fund at Simon Fraser University. Applicants should hold a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field and have good algorithm development and computer programming skills. They should either have experience in algorithmic aspects of bioinformatics or have strong background and publication record in theoretical computer science or discrete mathematics with a serious interest in the field of bioinformatics. The specific research subject is flexible and negotiable but the applicants with background in genome sequence analysis and personalized genomics as well as biomolecular network analysis are of particular interest. For candidates with some postdoctoral experience we have a possibility to substitute the postdoctoral fellowship with a research associateship.
To apply: send, via email, a CV, a statement of research interests, and the names and contact information for three references to Cenk Sahinalp cenk AT cs.sfu.ca
