Molecular Biologist (Bioinformatics Specialist)

Viron Therapeutics Inc. is a London-based biopharmaceutical company specializing in the discovery and development of novel protein therapeutics to target human inflammatory disorders such as cardiovascular disease, organ transplant, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Viron is seeking a Molecular Biologist with bioinformatics experience.

As a pivotal member of the discovery team, you will be responsible for the identification and analysis of novel genes involved in key inflammatory pathways. You will develop methods to record bioinformatics analysis data, produce new gene constructs to be used for the expression of novel proteins, monitor gene expression efforts, and track the progress of each product through the different stages of the discovery program.

You have an MSc or PhD degree with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or other related field. You have extensive experience with standard molecular biology techniques and computer-based, bioinformatics analysis of gene/amino acid sequences using available tools. Biochemical expertise in protein purification and characterization is an asset, as well as experience with affinity tags and protein expression systems. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic cross-functional team, you are detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates with industry experience and advanced computer skills are preferred.
