Salary: Commensurate with level of experience
Hours: 35 Hrs/week
Status: Permanent Full Time

We are seeking a full time application programmer to support the Selective Therapies Program associated with the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and the Terry Fox Research Institute to be located at the University of Toronto in the Donnelly Centre. This project involves managing large amounts of sequence and microarray data from functional genetic screens. The candidate will be exposed to multiple data types including shRNA screening data, DNA and RNA sequence from next generation sequencing technologies, and image analysis from diverse internal and external sources. The candidate will be responsible for design, implementation, operation and maintenance of data structures, graphical user interfaces, database driven websites, reporting and technical documentation.

The responsibilities include:
• Developing LIMS and GUI tools for data management and analyses;
• Working within a Unix/Linux environment;
• Web-based development and cross-platform support.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree in computer science is required;
• One (1) to three (3) years of related work experience;
• Experience in Java, Perl and Python programming;
• Experience in web application development;
• Experience in relational databases – specifically PostgreSQL and MySQL;
• Unix/Linux environment;
• Previous experience developing LIMS an asset;
• Previous experience in bioinformatics an asset
