Salary: Commensurate with level of experience
Hours: 35 Hrs/week
Status: Permanent Full Time
We are seeking a full time analyst to support the Selective Therapies Program associated with the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research and the Terry Fox Research Institute to be located at the University of Toronto in the Donnelly Centre. This project involves managing large amounts of sequence and microarray data from functional genetic screens. The candidate will be exposed to multiple data types including shRNA screening data, DNA and RNA sequence from next generation sequencing technologies, and image analysis from diverse internal and external sources. The analyst will be responsible for designing statistical models of significance for experimental results from functional screens related to cancer.
The responsibilities include:
• Development of models for statistical quantification of functional screening results;
• Working within a Unix/Linux environment;
QUALIFICATIONS
• A degree in computer science, mathematics, physics or engineering is required;
• One (2) to three (5) years of related work experience;
• Experience with R, Matlab, and Perl
• Experience in relational databases an asset
• Unix/Linux environment;
• Previous experience in bioinformatics necessary (network analysis, sequence analyses, large-scale datasets).
